Here's a quote that comes to mind:
"Speak softly and carry a big stick."-- Theodore Roosevelt
Retiring a workhorse?Well we're shifting from the Eagles nest today to focus on one of her contemporaries and quite possibly the finest CAS platform in existence, the Fairchild-Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, better known by it's affectionate nickname the "Warthog". If you're into the military aviation world you've probably noticed the firestorm of controversy surrounding it's imminent retirement and replacement by the questionable F-35 "Lightning II". Amid scandal and a few top AF brass being let go for rather poor comments and doctored info on the "Hog', there seems to be a general consencus among the boots on the ground that the "Hog" must stay lest we lose a vital CAS platform. Somethings to note about the A-10, it destroyed more than half of all Iraqi armor during Operation Desert Storm, it's the only current U.S. aircraft directly built to support ground troops, it's not stealth but can carry a small arsenal and stay much longer over the battlefield than it's intended replacement, (Stealth is virRetiring a workhorse? by EaglesExtraordinaire
A bit about me:|
I was born December 8, 1994, and I have Asperger's Syndrome (A form of autism) which dampens my sense of empathy.
I was also premature, as I was meant to be born on March 8th, 1995!
And I had severe cranial bleeds after my birth, and my parents told me, years later, that the doctors thought I'd never walk.
They were very wrong about that, now, weren't they?
This, combined with my AS, has ended up making me act a lot younger than I really am.
When it comes to maturity, I'm very professional in some areas, like explaining things to people who are curious, but very primitive in others, such as social queues-- If I'm bothering you, and you don't tell me, then I wouldn't know you were uncomfortable.
So if I'm getting on your nerves, let me know so I'll stop
From what I've gathered over the years, I've found that I often act in ways that are misunderstood by others because my brain doesn't process emotions normally.
Which means, when in my mind, I'm trying to help somebody, the person in question may very well take it as bullying, and will react hard to me and I won't know why (That is, if they don't tell me "You're getting on my nerves".)
And to anyone who thinks I'm pulling a guilt trip-- No, I'm not, these things really happened to me, and I'm a very happy person.
A bit overworked, but happy.
I've got a great family, amazing friends on here and at school, teachers I'd give my life for, and God-Given talents.
I'm very intelligent when it comes to language, science, history, and technology, but socially, I'm a ditz-- My understanding of the emotions of other people is terrible, because I'm an Aspie, but that doesn't mean I'm not trying to learn how to improve it.
I get better with it every day, and my parents constantly tell me how proud they are that I've come such a long way.
I am a rather forgetful person and rarely think things over before I do them, but if you respect me, I will fight for you.
Also, note to trolls: I will no longer fall for your tricks-- Your stupidity and bigotry only makes me laugh that there are unfortunate scumbags like you in the world who would probably be beat to death.
I have a strong interest in Information Technology and am currently attending Murray State University.

A black man tried to get into a cafe.
The white man said: "Colored people are not allowed here."
The black man turned around and stood up. He then said:
"Listen sir....when I was born I was BLACK.
When I grew up I was BLACK.
When I'm sick I'm BLACK.
When I go in the sun I'm BLACK.
When I'm cold I'm BLACK.
When I die I'll be BLACK."
He took a pause.
"But you sir." He continued.
When you are born you're PINK.
When you grow up you're WHITE.
When you're sick, you're GREEN.
When you go in the sun you turn RED.
When you're cold you turn BLUE.
And when you die you turn PURPLE.
And you have the nerve to call me colored?"
The black man then sat back down and the white man walked away...
Put this on your page if you hate RACISM, just like I do.
|If you know I hate something or have a strong opinion on it, PLEASE don't joke to me about it.|
Because I have a hard time telling whether or not someone is joking or serious, and when it's about those subjects, I ususally interpret it as an attempt at getting under my skin, and then get pissed off for no reason whatsoever.
So please, don't joke to me about:
Because if you do joke to me about those things, you're likely to get yelled at and not know why.
